Denbies Updates
It is our favourite time of year here on the estate – Harvest!
As the crisp autumn air settles in, we are thrilled to share some exciting updates from our vineyard. The harvest season has officially begun, and the vineyard is buzzing with activity. Here’s a glimpse into what’s been happening on the estate as a whole over the last couple of months:
September 2024:
Solarcycle e-bike chargers:
In line with our ongoing commitment to sustainability, in early September, instillation of Surrey’s first commercial off-grid solar-powered e-bike chargers were introduced to the estate. Installed by Solarcycle, a Surrey-based company, and partially funded by Surrey County Council’s “Your Fund Surrey” Small Community Projects, this charger offers eco-friendly, free-of-charge e-bike charging.
Bacchus 10K & Half Marathon
September 8th brought our tremendous annual event of The Bacchus 10K & Half Marathon which takes place throughout the vineyard, including some of the steepest areas of the estate. This event is our biggest event of the year, with 2000 runners taking part on the day, enjoying Denbies wines at each drinks station as well as live entertainment throughout the course!
With a buzz in the air, the event draws to a close with our fantastic hog roast and celebration party containing live music form our DJ and, of course, more Denbies wine.
Well done to all of those who took part this year, we already cannot wait for next year!
