An exciting opportunity to join the Denbies Events team:

We are currently recruiting for an Events Coordinator  (Maternity cover) to work within our dynamic events team.  This offers a great opportunity to further your experience in this multifaceted business with a strong emphasis on wine tourism.  Denbies Wine Estate is one of the largest single estate vineyards in the UK.

As the Events Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the Events Team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the C&B Department and to undertake administrative tasks;

  • Take enquiries and bookings for conference & banqueting events and weddings via telephone and emails.
  • Prepare, update and file all correspondences relating to C & B.
  • Prepare C & B Function Sheet with completed final and accurate details for both the clients and the operational side of Denbies.
  • Log all C & B enquiries and maintain an effective follow – up system to secure business and provide and after sales service to secure repeat business.
  • Follow up brochure request with a courtesy call
  • Compile statistics monthly of conversion and functions room usage.
  • Attend weekly function meeting, and responsible for taking minutes for the meeting.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and other activities as required.
  • To carry out show rounds as and when required
  • To assist the team in sending out contracts and raising invoices.
  • Knowledge and experience in Food Services would also be essential, as the role will involve in overseeing working lunches and large banqueting events.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years’ experience in Conference and Events Coordinator
  • A positive can-do attitude towards working within a team with the ability to motivate others
  • Organised with high level of attention to detail
  • Good customer and communications skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Pack
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Minimum of 4 GCSE’S including Maths and English
  • Working towards a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership (desirable)

All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK

This is a Fixed Term Contract working 5 days out of 7, this will also include working occasional evenings and weekends as per the needs of the business.
