September blog – Bee update 2020
The latest and most recent beehives were relocated to the estate back in March, just prior to lock down. What seems like now such a long time ago, we are pleased to bring you an update on their progress from the beekeeper.
The bee hives have been building up in size from quite small beginnings and up to the start of August progressing well. They have fallen back during the dry weather and have been making honey for their own stores. At the moment, they are short of forage and I am feeding syrup, we look forward to the ivy flowering before long. The priority is to build strong healthy colonies to get through winter and start in earnest next spring.
